Abstract
The synthesis of dicyclohexyl phthalate catalyzed by ferric tri-dodecanesulfonate was studied in this article. The effects of catalyst amount, molar ratio of cyclohexanol to phthalic anhydride, reaction time, catalyst reused times, and water-carrying agent amount on the yield of dicyclohexyl phthalate were investigated. The experiment results showed that ferric tri-dodecanesulfonate had a lot of merits, such as high catalytical activity, little amount, high esterification yield, low pollution, low cost, good reusability and so on.The optimum reaction conditions were obtained as follows:phthalic anhydride amount of 0.1 mol, cyclohexanol amount of 0.28 mol, catalyst amount of 2.5 g,reaction time of 3.0 h,water-carrying agent amount of 15 mL.Under above conditions, the yield of dicyclohexyl phthalate could be up to 93.6%.
