Abstract

The effects of parameters including rate of revolution and emulsifying time, water cut, water conductivity and temperature water-in-oil emulsion prepared in laboratory on crude oil emulsion stability were studied. The results show that the rate of revolution is a key factor forming crude oil emulsion. Crude oil emulsion is formed while the rate of revolution is 7000 r/min and emulsifying time is 8min. Furthermore, larger rate of revolution is and longer emulsifying time is,the smaller the water droplet size would be,its particle size distribution is more homogeneous and the crude oil emulsion is more stable. The higher the water cut is,the less stable the crude oil emulsion is. The size of conductivity of crude oil emulsion is dependent on the size of water conductivity in crude oil emulsion which can reflect crude oil emulsion stability. As the temperature is raised the stability the emulsion is reduced.
