Abstract
Purpose To cultivate and identify mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) from human umbilical cord blood. Methods Human umbilical cord blood was drawn out, then MSCs was separated and cultivated. They were identified by FAC-Scan.Results MSCs were found in human umbilical cord blood with fibroblast-like appearing.Flow Cytometry results showed that they expressed CD29,CD44,CD90,CD95,CD105,CD166 and MHC class Ⅰ,but the expression of CD14,CD34,CD40,CD45,CD80,CD86,CD117,CD152 and MHC class Ⅱ was negative. These cells had the potential of differentiation into osteoblasts and fat cells. Conclusions MSCs can be separated and cultivated from human umbilical cord blood.
