Abstract

This paper mainly introduces the technical key points of spatial databases from the following three aspects.Firstly,spatial data model is the core of the spatial databases and serves as the foundation of other technologies of spatial databases.Secondly,spatial data index is established on the spatial data model and serves as clues to query spatial data.Thirdly,spatial data query language provides the calling and operating method to spatial data.Combining these three aspects,the traditional relational database may be expanded to the spatial database.Then the complex data can be processed conveniently and flexibly.
