Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of angiography and interventional treatment in gastrointestinal hemorrhage?£Methods DSA of celiac ,superior mesenteric and inferior mesenteric arterise were performed. Vasopressin infusion and embolization with Gelfoam or coils were used. Follow-up period was 1-3 months. Results The 43 in 62 patiens had abnormal blood vessel angiograms. Angiograms demonstrated contrast medium leakage in 23,tumor vessels and tumor staining in 3, artery aneurysm in 4,and artery vessels malformation in 13 cases. The positive rate of angiography in gastrointestinal hemorrhage was 69.35%. The interventional treatment were performed in 43. Embolization therapy was carried out in 27 patients with complete hemostasis rate of 96.30% and infusion of vasopressin was done in 29 patients with complete hemostasis rate of 81.25%. Conclusion DSA is a valuable method for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal hemorrage. Arterial embolization and/or infusion of vasopressin for treatment of hemorrhage is safe ,effective and lifesaving.
