Abstract
The influence of sediment on transport and transformation of pollutants was reviewed in this paper. Adsorption, desorption and the movement of sediment particles change the form and distribution of pollutants in the natural water bodies. Mechanisms, influence factors, numerical models of pollutants adsorption and desorption by sediments were systematically summarized. Related problems that need further study were discussed based on the present research work.
