Abstract

Dried biomass of laminaria japonica was used as biosorbent for Hg~(2+).The results show that(laminaria) japonica has a strong and fast absorption of Hg~(2+) without depending on temperature.The absorptivity is determined by the cubage of powder and higher at pH?4 to 7.When [Hg~(2+)] is a range of 25~250?mg/L,the absorptivity mutually related with the initial concentration of Hg~(2+)and increased with [Hg~(2+)](decreased.)
