The Modern Western Philosophy——A Challenge to the Traditional Aesthetics

Abstract

Plato posed philosophical question of What is Beauty and thus opened way for searching the nature of beauty.Differs from western pre-modern aesthetics thought that based on epistemology,analytic aesthetics digests question what is essence of Beauty;Heidegger laid a foundation of Ontology for aesthetics in early period.Thus,the essence of beauty etc,classical questions are no more significant,Beauty is only a question of being.
