Abstract
The environmental public interest litigation is a supervisory mechanism that ensures the effective implementation of the environmental laws. The environmental public interest litigation by NGO is an important type of environmental public interest litigation, and it will probably be the most common type in the future. This paper discusses the necessity and the main difficulties of the environmental public interest litigation by NGO in China. Based upon the discussion, some suggestions are given as to how to realize the harmonious development of the society, its economy, and the environment.
