Reflection on recessiveness and dominance of news value

Abstract
News value is an important theoretical issue in journalism and has become a theoretical focus because it has been a theoretical controversy.In value theories,the original value of news and its dissemination value are mixed.The character of news as special commodity is ignored because Marx's theory on commodity value is used in understanding news value.This paper analyzes many aspects of news value: the original value and the dissemination value,pointing out that there exist different value outlooks about recessiveness and dominance of news value and tries to make theoretical research into news value have a correct direction.
