Abstract
To solve the problem of tools modeling and interacive operation simulation in virtual assembly,based on analysis of function requirements for tools in interactive virtual assembly process,a unified modeling method for information expression and operation for various assembly tools was presented.Then,a general operation method for various tools was developed,and the modeling and driving methods of typical tools were discussed in detail.Application in the tools manipulation simulation in assembly process of some type automobile engine validated the effectiveness of the presented modeling and operation method.
