Abstract
In 2012 and 2013,the weed- control efficacy of pendimethalin 33% EC was studied in dry and late rice fields,to determine an appropriate dose and crop selectivity in south China. When sprayed at the recommended dose of 740 ~990 g a.i./ hm2to the soil after rice planting but before crop emergence, pendimethalin 33% EC effectively controlled annual the grass weeds Echinochloa crusgalli(L.) Beauv.,Leptochloa chinensis(L.) Nees;the Cyperaceae weeds Cyperus difformis L.,Cyperus iria L.,Fimbristylis miliaceae(L.) Vahl;and the broadleaf weeds Sphenoclea zeylanica Gaertn.Pendimethalin was not phytotoxic to the crop even at high doses.
