Abstract
The effects of six different nitrogen sources on enzyme activity in carbon and nitrogen metabolism, and chemical composition in flue-cured tobacco were studied at four different growth stages. The results showed that the activities of nitrate reductase(NR) and invertase(Inv) were always high during the full growth period when the mixture fertilizer of ammonium nitrate and sesame cake was applied. However, the α-amylase activity showed low at early growth stage but increased at late growth stage. It was good for the accumulation of dry matter and timely maturity of tobacco leaves. Also, the chemical composition and ratio of cured tobacco were more appropriate in this situation. The high-quality tobacco could be harvested more easily based on this. Our data proved that it was better for tobacco growth when T4 treatment was used for the nitrogen source in this study.
