Abstract

The basic conditions of China's economy require stability of RMB value, for great discrepancy between demand and supply justifies the effective use of central bank intervention in foreign exchange market to realize its exchange rate target. The pressure for RMB's appreciation does not inherently come from non-economic factors, but from the asymmetry of the demand-supply mechanism.
