Abstract
Objective To investigate the acute toxicity test and the effects of prevention from and treatment in alloxan-induced diabetic mice of pumpkin removed-sugar zymotic fluid(PRSZF). Methods Acute toxicity test was conducted according to GB-15193-94.The test of Prevention from Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Mice:The mice were divided into several groups randomly and be fed orally daily,and then had them injected alloxan intraperiteneal.It was gone on the test of treatment in that alloxan-induced diabetic mice were divided into 2 groups.Results The test of prevention from Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Mice:The blood glucose level of the mice fed PRSZF 20 ml/kg body weight was lower then the control evidently(P0.05 or P0.01).Their body weight was higher than the control obviously(P0.01).The test of Treatment in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Mice:The blood glucose level and(water) intake of diabetic mice fed PRSZF 20 ml/kg body weight decreased significantly(P0.01).Their body weight was higher than the control significantly(P0.01).Conclusion PRSZF on the peroral LD_(50) in mice is 20 ml/kg body weight.It is belong to practical non-toxic.It is suggested that PRSZF has effects of prevention from and treatment in alloxan-induced diabetic mice.
