Abstract

The relationship between compaction degree and shear strength of silt soil is studied by triaxial compression test. The variation relationship different between compaction degree, cohesion and internal friction angle is also discussed. The results show that the shear strength is proportional to compaction under the same confining pressure, while it is in inverse proportion shear strength to confining pressure under the same compaction degree. The cohesion force is decreasing and the internal friction angle is increasing while the compaction degree is increasing.
