Abstract
E-cadherin induces the adherence of the same type of cells, which is an important part in the development of the embryo and the maintenance of integrality of tissues. E-cadherin is considered as a tumor suppressor molecule. The abnormal expression and malfunction of E-cadherin could accelerate the infiltration and metastasis of epithelial tumors. It also has the relationship with catenin.
