Abstract
Objective To evaluate hemostatic effect and security of sod iu m nitroprusside in treating massive hempoptysis in patients with pulmonary tuber culosis. Methods The therapeutic effects of sodium nitroprusside and phentolamine in 48 patients were compared. Results The effe ctive rate of sodium nitroprusside in treatment of massive hempoptysis was 91.6% ,and that of phentolamine was 66.7%;there was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusions Sodium nitroprusside is efficacious against massive hempoptysis in patients with pulmonary tuberculosi s with rare side effects.
