A Survey of Present Status of Tropical Flowers Industry in Hainan Province

Field surveys were made of the main flower producing areas, main flower cultivars, flower markets and companies involved in production and marketing of flowers and ornamental plants in Hainan Province, and on-site seminars were also held to discuss with the producers, marketers, management and researchers in relation to flowers and ornamental plants industry during the period from November 2007 to April 2009. The flower market developments and the main problems in cultivation and marketing of flowers and ornamental plants in Hainan Province were analyzed based on the discussion, survey and other data available, according to which some suggestions were made for the future development of the flowers and ornamental plants industry in Hainan Province.
