Symbolism is a distinctive characteristic of Hawthan's works.This article divide it into the use of Costumes and figures as symbols,the use of animals as symbols,the use of characters as symbols,the use of myths as symbols.six categories by analyzing several of his influential representative novels,which displays the flexibility,speciality and richness of Hawthan's skill.
