Abstract

The power cut in large areas of U.S.A.and Canada in 2003 remind people to pay great attention to the security of power transmission.As a result,distributed power generation technologies are being followed with great interest by people in circles of energy and power industry.The energy industry must imperatively solve the four problems: regulating reasonably the energy construction,raising the energy utilizing efficiency,improving the security of energy industry,and solving environmental pollution problems.Distributed power systems can be supplementary power supplys for the large electrical network and are therefore considered as the development direction of electrical industry in the 21th century.In this paper,the concepts,features and prospects of distributed power systems were introduced in detail.The stastus quo of developmemt and advantages of distributed power generation systems were described.
