Abstract

Objective:To investigate the the related mechanisms of electroacupuncture(EA)in the chronic inflammatory rats. Methods:Complete Freund's adjuvant(CFA)arthritis model was adopted and 36 adult SD rats were divided into three groups randomly, including normal control group,CFA group and EA group. On days 4 and 7 of the experiment,electroacupuncture(2/100 Hz)was applied to the acupoints yanglingquanandzusanli. The changes of the expression of substance P in the spinal dorsal horn were observed by the immunochemistry and the quantity of capillary electrophoresis(CE).Results:Compared with the CFA group, the quantity of glutamate in the lumbar spinal cord and the expression of SP in the spinal dorsal horn in the normal control group and EA group were lower significantly(P0.01).Conclusion:The analgesia effect of EA was realized by suppressing the release of SP and lowering the quantity of Glu in spinal cord to some extent.
