Comparative Analysis of Cultural Connotations about English-Chinese Animal Words

Abstract

Animals are closely related to human lives.Animal words enrich language and become an important part of culture as well.Due to cultural differences, some animal words in China and western countries have different cultural connotations.Through comparative analysis of the connotations,the paper discusses the fact that cultural differences cause people to give different emotional and figurative meanings of animal words as well as significances.
