Abstract
Finite and infinite coupled element method was used in the analysis of strength and deformation of layered soil foundation under the vertical load of the rectangular shallow foundation. In the numerical analysis, for the rectangular shallow foundation the elastic constitutive model was applied and for the soil the nonlinear E-μ K-G constitutive model was applied.Corresponding program was applied in computation of six kinds of layered soil foundation with different soil layer composition. Finally, corresponding conclusions useful to practice of the layered soil foundation under the rectangular shallow foundation were made based on the analysis of the results of above computation.
