Abstract
Inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) molecular markers were used to analyze the genetic diversity of 24 Phalaenopsis cultivars.12 primers were selected and 301 reproducible DNA bands were generated,of which 268 bands (89.1%) were polymorphic. The coefficient of genetic similarity ranged from 0.37 to 0.93,showing that there was high genetic diversity among the cultivars.Consequently, the Unweighted Pair Group Method with arithmetic average was used and the cultivars studied can be clustered into three groups, which closely contact with the origin and flower phenotype of the cultivars.
