Abstract
The experimental research on displacement ductility are carried out through 33 steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns. The main factors such as axial compression ratio, stirrup ratio and steel ratio, which affect the ductility of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns, are analyzed. The failure characters of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns are also studied. Some results are obtained through the test. From the interrelated curves between ductility and stirrup ratio,it is known that the ductility of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns increases with the increase of stirrup ratio. But when the stirrup ratio is raised to a certain value, the ductility increases slowly with the increase of stirrup ratio. The interrelated curves between ductility and axial compression ratio shows that the ductility of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns increases while the axial compression ratio decreases. The interrelated curves between ductility and steel ratio shows that the ductility of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns increases with the increase of steel ratio. Finally based on these test results, the limit values of axial compression ratio of steel reinforced high strength concrete short columns are put forward, which satisfy a certain requirement of ductility.
