Abstract
Twelve poplar varieties,common in Qingdao,were selected to feed Hyphantria cunea larvae.The results showed that there were significant differences in the weight,development duration and survival rate of larva,oviposition amount and hatchability among the individuals feeding on different poplar varieties.Among the 12 poplar varieties,Populus×euramericana Neva,Populus×euramericana carppaccio,poplar clones-T66,Populus×euramericana-L102 and poplar clones-323 were susceptible to Hyphantria cunea;Populus×euramericana-w141,poplar clones-2025 and poplar clones-L35 were moderately resistant;Populus×euramericana cv.Nanlin895,Populus×euramericana cv.Nanlin 95,poplar clones-T26 and poplar clones-L324 were highly resistant.
