Effect of Orthodontic Treatment for Periodontal Patients with Anterior Displaced Incisors

Objective To observe the clinical effect of orthodontic treatment for periodontal patients with anterior displaced incisors. Methods The clinical data of 50 periodontal patients with anterior displaced incisors admitted in our hospital during June2011 and December 2013 was retrospectively analyzed. Their anterior coverage distance, periodontal pocket depth, height of alveolar bone, degree of anterior overbite, periodontal bleeding were observed before and after treatment followed by a reexamination one year later. Results After treatment, anterior coverage distance, periodontal pocket depth, degree of anterior overbite, periodontal bleeding of all the patients were improved, which showed statistically significant differences with those before treatment,P 0.05. The success rate was 100% with no exacerbation situation found in the reexamination in which anterior coverage distance,periodontal pocket depth, degree of anterior overbite, periodontal bleeding were almost consistent with those after treatment. Conclusion Orthodontic treatment it is worthy of promotion due to its effectiveness in improving the signs of periodontal disease.
