The analysis of total hip replacement on femoral neck fracture in elder patients and its complications

Objective To analyze the therapeutic effects of the total hip replacement on femoral neck fracture in elder patients and explore the prevention and cure for its complications.Methods The therapeutic efficacy of 67 elder patients with femoral neck fracture treated with total hip replacement were observed,and the preoperative and postoperative Harris scores and the complications were also analyzed.Results All 67 patients discharged successfully after an average hospitalizational time 2 1.7 days after the operation.And the Harris scores of the patients at the time discharging was raised from 30.4±6.0(preoperative score) to 78.2±5.6(P0.05),and 86.8±3.6 after 6 months(vs the discharging Harris score,P0.05).And the complication were as follows:hypertension 6 cases,arrhythmia 4 cases,replacement joint dearticulation 3 cases.wound infection 4 cases,bellows complication 5 cases,urinary system infection 4 cases,deep vein phlebitis 4 cases,deep veins thrombus of lower limb 3 cases and stress ulcer 1 case.All the complications were cured by active treatment.Conclusion The total hip replacement should be promptly performed on femoral neck fracture of elder patients after other diseases were active treated and the complications should also be considered seriously.
