Abstract

[Objective] The study was to screen the optimum cutting substrate for hydrangea L..[Method] With perlite,vermiculite and peat as the materials,7 kinds of cutting substrates such as ① perlite;② vermiculite;③ peat;④ perlite:vermiculite =1∶ 1;⑤ perlite:peat=1∶ 1;⑥ vermiculite∶ peat=1∶ 1;⑦ perlite∶ vermiculite∶ peat=1∶ 1∶ 1 were prepared,and the rooting rate,number and length of roots of the cuttings in different substrates were compared.[Result] The rooting rates of cuttings in treatments of ⑦,⑥,④ all reached 100%,being significantly higher than those in other treatments.The number of roots of cuttings in treatment ⑥(50.83 roots.) was significantly more than those in other treatments.The length of roots of cuttings in treatment ⑦ was the longest,being very significantly different with that in other treatments.The number of roots of cuttings in treatment ② was the least with the lowest rooting rate.[Conclusion] The peat could promote rooting of cuttings of Hydrangea L.,and the substrates that perlite∶ vermiculite∶ peat=1∶ 1∶ 1could promote the elongation growth of the roots of cuttings of Hydrangea L..
