Abstract
The effects of nanometer carbonate on the combustion properties of AP/Al/HTPB,AP/RDX/Al/HTPB and low burning rate NEPE propellant were investigated. The results show that, when nanometer carbonate is added, the burning rate pressure exponent of AP/Al/HTPB propellant is decreased to less than 0.2 in the pressure ranges of 10~18 MPa and 4~10 MPa,at the same time, the burning rate is greatly decreased. The burning rate pressure exponent of AP/RDX/Al/HTPB propellant is decreased to about 0.26 in the ranges of 10~18 MPa.The burning rate pressure exponent of low burning rate NEPE propellant is decreased from about 0.77 to 0.55 in the ranges of 4~9 MPa.Thus, the addition of nanometer carbonate is a feasible way to decrease the burning rate pressure exponent of composite solid propellants.
