Combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine in treatment of acute pancreatitis

Objective:To compare the effects of the combination treatment of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of acute pancreatitis(AP).Methods:99 patients were divided into two groups:44 patients in group A were given the western medicine treatment and 55 patients in group B received the combination treatment of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine.Then to compare the effects of two groups with statistical method.Results:Group B became better quickly and shortened the course of disease compared with group A(P0.01).Conclusion:The combination treatment of western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine is obviously better than the conservative western medicine treatment with shortening the course of disease and decreasing the complication and operation rate.
