Antioxidant Activity of Crude Extracts from Gynostemma pentaphyllum

Abstract

The compounds in Gynostemma pentaphyllum were extracted and purified,and the free radical DPPH· scavenging activity of the extracts was determined.The results showed that the crude extracts from ethyl acetate had strong free radical DPPH· scavenging activity,and the fraction 4 and 5 had contained the composition that could scavenge the free radical DPPH·strongly.
