Abstract
Adipic acid was synthesized under ultrasonic irradiation using cyclohexanol and hydrogen peroxide as raw materials and phosphotungstic acid as a catalyst. The effect of materials ratio, catalyst amount, reaction temperature and time on the yield of adipic acid was studied. The yield of adipic acid reached 82.1% when the amount of cyclohexanol,30% hydrogen peroxide and catalyst were 10.5 mL,60 mL and 0.5 mmol, respectively, the reaction temperature was 75(°C) and the reaction time was 8 h.The yield of this method was higher than in ordinary method(60%~70%).This is a feasible and green chemical process to synthesize adipic acid.
