Abstract

On the historic background of modern Chinese enlightening thoughts,this thesis mainly explores the connotations of YAN Fu's liberal thoughts,and their features,meanings and inherent limitations.The author argues that not only was YAN Fu the first enlightening thinker to kindle the flames of literal thoughts reveals a complete ideological system.This ideological hevitage is still meaningful in the context of contecomporary cultural ideology. [
