Abstract

This paper describes the basic conception of reactive power compensation for distribution network and gives four methods of compensations. It also instroduces the technical development of reactive power compensation at home and abroad, and takes primary study on the main problems occurred in the reactive power compensation for distribution network. Meanwhile the full analysis on the benefit of the reactive power compensation from the management of the power network and the customer are given. The conclusion of the reactive power compensation is that it is low investment, high benefit, energy saving measure for the power system. And the adoption of the suitable reactive power compensation will get very good benefit by calculation.
