Abstract

Zhang Shi-Zhao (章士钊) is a scholar of great fame in modern Chinese history. His only one book in the field of Chinese grammar study, Junior Chinese Grammar Dictionary (中等国文典) , is a famous grammar work in the of historyChinese grammar. Zhang realised that it is a historical trend to study the modern and contemporary Chinese linguistics. So he went along with it and made a great contribution to it. The thesis discusses the characteristics of Junior Chinese Grammar Dictionary (中等国文典 )and its contribution to Chinese grammar.
