Abstract
The standardization of DCS is one of the research focuses in industrial control. The development of PLC and its effect on the standardization process of DCS were discussed in this paper. The data engine theory is the key factor to bring about these functions. In the light of this theory,PLC can replace traditional DCS control station completely and even better hardware integration and software sharing performance can be achieved. The practical experience of PLC-based control stations can improve the design and field commission efficiency greatly and reduce the operation cost effectively.PLC will become the standard platform for the next generation DCS control station.
