Abstract
Properties and types of cold working die steel were summarized,and the disadvantages of traditional cold working die steels and advantages of new cold working die steels were put forward.From the aspects of chemical com- position,structure,mechanical properties and life-span,new cold working die steels,such as steel of GD (6CrMnNiMoVSi),65Nb(65Cr4W3Mo2VNb)and CG-2(6Cr4Mo3Ni2WV),LD(7Cr7Mo2V2Si)and GM (9Cr6W3Mo2V2)were compared,meanwhile,the practical examples were analyzed.It was pointed out that proper choice and application of new cold working die steels could prolong the life span of dies.
