Abstract

A high-quality, high-speed and secure well campus network must be build for a college, to meet the teaching, research, administrative and other needs. This article discussed the definition, characteristics and classification of the virtual local area network (VLAN), and Layer 3 switching technology and the advantage of VLAN based on the third floor of the exchange, the feasibility and necessity of building a campus network using VLAN. the design of the VLAN was proposed using a actual case.
