Abstract

Based on the statistical analysis of temperature and precipitation data in Benxi from 1953 to 2008. Mann-Kendall method was used to make the mutation years detection of average temperature and annual precipitation. The temperature and precipitation anomaly indices were used to analyze and confirm the abnormal years. The results showed that the climate changes in Benxi region showed the trend of increased temperature and decreased precipitation. Warming increase extent of the air temperature differed greatly in various seasons. The biggest contribution to climate warming was in winter and the increasing extent of average minimum temperature was higher than that of average maximum temperature. The year of 1988 for the annual average temperature was variation year. The precipition in Benxi Region during 1953~2008 showed a decreasing trend with obvious stages. The year of 1974 was variation year, the period before 1974 had more precipitation and the period after 1974 had less precipitation.
