Abstract
Liver fibrosis is a reversible wound-healing response to chronic liver injury. The most characteristic feature of liver fibrosis is the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in liver. It is well known that activation of hepatic stellate cells, which is regulated by many cytokines and several intracellular signaling pathways,is the key event in the process of liver fibrosis.Oxidative stress-related molecules may act as mediators able to modulate tissue and cellular events responsible for the progression of liver fibrosis.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
