Abstract

The aesthetic and reader-response theory give the reader a subjective role in literary activity, just as the author, regarding that the reader is the center of literary reading and interpretation, emphasizing that the real ultimate completion of a literary work is up to the reader's participation. This paper expounds the important role of the reader in reading activity by means of some examples, indicate that it is significant for the author to pay due attention to the reader in his literary creation, which is indispensable to literary cause.
