Abstract
Investigation and analysis of growth dynamics of mixed plantations in mountainous areas of eastern Liaoning were carried out.The results indicated that:the volume increment of block - like mixed Pinus koraiensis plantations was 109% ~ 124% of that of pure Pinus koraiensis ,and the volume increment of black - like mixed larch plantations was 108% ~ 151 % of that of pure larch plantations. The biomasses of tree layers of Pinus koraiensis and larch in each mixed forest types were 3.1% ~ 28 .6 % and 2.8% ~ 16% higer than that in pure plantation, respectively. The biomasses of trunks, branches, leaves and roots of Pinus koraiensis and larch in block - like and belt - like mixed plantations were mostly higher than that in pure plantations respectively, and the distru-bution areas of root systerms in mixed plantation were elevated 23 % than that in pure plantations.
