Abstract
4 characteristics of aromatic plants as garden design elements are described:aromatic beautyof plants is not limited by vision;aroma of plants has the capacity of adjusting mental and physical conditions of viewers;aroma of plants is able to sterilize and purify the environment;aroma of plants helps form the artistic conception of gardens.There are 4 major types of aromatic plants:aromatic flower plants,aromatic foliage plants,aromatic fruit plants and others.Representative plants of each type are given to discuss the application modes of aromatic plants,specifically,aromatic plant as main landscape,aromatic plant as decorative landscape,aromatic plant for health care,indoor combination of aromatic plant,aromatic plant as dress and personal adornment.Concrete application techniques and attentions are introduced.
