On artistic connotation of Han and Tang Dynasty bronze mirror:A case study of bronze mirrors unearthed in Zhejiang

Han and Tang Dynasty bronze mirrors possess distinctive art characters and rich artistic content.Han Dynasty mirrors pay attention to the embodiment of artistic conception of the image,the expression of charm and the use of visual art language.Through the imagery inspiration of image and reality,existence and non-existence,similarity and dissimilarity,the Han Dynasty mirrors exhibit abundant connotation of Han Dynasty culture.The ornamentation layout of Tang Dynasty mirrors is fresh and clear,full and plump,fluent and gorgeous.Its map-like perfection and unique high relief technique have broken the previous program specification.It can be seen from this that some significant artistic and cultural elements urgently need us to exploit in Han and Tang Dynasty bronze mirrors.Thus,considerable benefits will be obtained if we can bring the research of the ornamentation artistic connotation into design teach and art design.
