Abstract

On the basis of the characteristic composition of ostracods in non-marine Cretaceous strata,7 ostracod assemblages of China have previously been established,and are preliminarily reviewed herein.They are as follows:1) Hauterivian-Barremian Jingguella-Minheella-Pinnocypridea assemblage in northwestern and southwestern China;2) Barremian,Cypridea-Latonia-Darwinula assemblage in in northwestern and southwestern China;3) Aptian-Albian Cypridea(Morinina)-Bisulcocypridea-Mongolocypris assemblage;4) mainly Hauterivian-Barremian,Cypridea-Mongolianella-Darwinula assemblage in northeastern,central,and eastern China;5) Barremian-Aptian,Cypridea(Cypridea)-Cypridea(Ulwellia)-Limnocypridea assemblage in northeastern,central,and eastern China;6) Cenomanian-Santonian Cypridea-Triangulicypris-Sunliavia-Lycopterocypris assemblage;7) Campanian-Maastrichtian,Talicypridea-Cypridea-Quadracypris-Candona assemblage.Seventy-three ostracod-bearing formations/groups in 22 regions of China are analyzed and correlated.
