Abstract
Community culture should be the logical starting point of the modern community development,and socialcapital,from both subjective experience and emotional need,provides a brand-new dimension for community develop-ment and social construction. From the perspective of social capital,the community cultural construction should takepaths different from those of the past and should benefit community governance and social governance as well. To achievereal community development,community cultural construction should take as its major objectives the accumulation ofcommunity capital,residents' community awareness,and increased community identity. The target is to turn urban communities into spiritual homes for modern dwellers.
