Genetic diversity and population structure of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) germplasm

Abstract

The genetic diversity and population structure among 70 eggplant(Solanum melongena L.) materials from China and abroad were analyzed using the SRAP(sequence-related amplified polymorphism) molecular marker.The results showed that 375 distinct PCR bands were amplified using 21 primers,and 17.8 bands per primer were amplified.72 bands were polymorphic,and the polymorphic rate was 19.2%.The genetic similarity coefficients among those germplasm ranged in 0.388 9-0.958 3,with the average of 0.705 3,which suggested that there was some genetic diversity among the oat germplasm,but the genetic basis was narrow.The population structure analysis revealed 84.29% eggplant were with single genetic components and 15.71% with complicated genetic components.The results of genetic diversity and population structure analysis were the same,however a few complicated ancestors revealed some differences.
