Abstract
The adsorption rule of bamboo charcoal for Ni2+ was studied in aqueous solution. The adsorption isotherms of Ni2+ on activated carbon was studied by considering the effects of various parameters on the removal rate of Ni2+,such as adsorption time,pH value, adsorbent dosage, and initial concentration of Ni2+.The experimental result shows that the bamboo charcoal is an efficient adsorbent for removing Ni2+ from aqueous solution, and Ni2+ adsorption is found to be pH-dependent and the optimum initial pH is chosen to be 7.0.The optimal adsorbent dosage is 30g/L.The nickel(Ⅱ) uptake by bamboo charcoal is best described by pseudo second-order rate model. The adsorption reaches equilibrium in 180 minutes.Adsorption increased with increases in adsorption temperatures,it means that the sorption process is a endothermic process. The adsorption behavior of the bamboo charcoal for Ni2+ is in accordance with the Freundlich isotherm model.
